With the upcoming release of Wolfenstein: Youngblood now only two months and a half away, the developers at MachineGames have started to cover comments about the upcoming title via a Reddit AMA session.
MachineGames have previously stated they devised Wolfenstein as a trilogy (not counting spin-offs such Old Blood and Youngblood), which means they’ll likely work on the third main chapter next. A fan asked if they’d be up for making a new Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory multiplayer game and Game Director Jeff Gustafsson replied enthusiastically at the idea.
Jerk Gustaffson (Game Director):
Quake is the reason I got into gaming. Discovering WorldCraft and Level Design, making maps for Quake, was one of the best experiences of my life – I even still do it today. Developing a Quake game (a re-imagination of Quake 1) is and will always be on my bucket list, but working with Wolfenstein and getting to work closely with my heroes over at id Software is pretty awesome too.
Axel Torvenius (Art Director):
I can’t answer for the team, but I personally could only second what Jerk wrote earlier, Quake would be a killer IP to be part of.
