Movies based on video games always seem to have some kind of trouble, and that trend seems to be continuing with Sony Pictures’ Uncharted film. New reports have surfaced online indicating that director Dan Trachtenberg has backed out of the film, marking him the fifth director to exit the project.
The studio is still searching for a replacement director following Trachtenberg’s departure, according to a report from Deadline. Trachtenberg had only taken over directorial duties following the departure of Shawn Levy, who was replacing David O. Russel, Neil Burger, and Seth Gordon, who had all been attached to direct prior to Levy’s involvement.
Tom Holland is still attached to the project, as he has been since first announcing his role as Nathan Drake back in 2017.
