Ubisoft’s AAA title lineup will keep the current pricing for the time being but it’s still uncertain what the future will bring and whether they will adopt a price hike as well.
According to Ubisoft’s latest earnings call, the AAA games they will release during autumn 2020 will retain the current standard of pricing, it just isn’t stated how long this will actually last.
When asked about the future pricing of their games, Ubisoft declined to give a definitive answer , again stating that they will keep the current pricing for the games of 2020. There is no confirmation on whether they will push the price to $70 / €70 or not.
What this means for gamers is that the next few AAA releases from the gaming giant will remain at the current price point, although this was already obvious for Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla and Watch Dogs: Legion, both of which are set to launch during the aforementioned release window.
The future may be uncertain for Skull & Bones and Beyond Good & Evil 2 but one game from a release window beyond autumn 2020 will also keep the $60 / €60 price tag. Far Cry 6 is already up for pre-orders even though it’s set to release in February 2021. The Standard Edition of the game seems to show the regular AAA price.
