Storm Boy DEALS
Storm Boy came out back in 2018 but I had only got around to playing it now. Storm Boy was such a lovely game to play. It’s the kind of game that feels you with warmth but also sadness due to its gripping story.
Storm Boy is based on a child who makes friends with a Pelican he calls Mr Percival. The game is a side scrolling game played more like a story book as you travel from the left side of the screen to the right with the story played above you.
For me I found this a welcomed change from where we usually get subtitles on the lower part of the screen which instantly draws your eye to it. However, where the written text is up higher, but not overlooking the scenery of the gameplay, it makes Storm Boy that more immersive.
Not only do you get gripped in by the story but also the visuals. The backdrop of this game is played on the beach amongst the grassy banks. As you venture through the scenes you come across some icons that pop up on screen. These indicate a side mini-game. These don’t affect the story in any way but it makes the game that little bit longer (if you like getting trophies or achievements then play them as they are really easy!)
The setting of Storm Boy is beautiful accompanied by some soft music which makes the game feel soothing and calm even in the part where you have to rescue some people out at sea.
I really enjoyed playing this really quick title. Even though you can complete it fully in well under an hour, heck there are videos out there for achievement hunters to get it fully completed in less than 20 minutes, but if you really want to just play this game for the story, then I would definitely play it. However, it is probably not worth the price tag for it so it could be better to just wait until it is on sale.
