More information has surfaced about the rumored new models of the Nintendo Switch courtesy of The Wall Street Journal. We already know that one model with have enhanced features meant for more hardcore players while the other will be more portable.
Recent sources close to Eurogamer have revealed that the budget-friendly Switch will be more robust and basically “kid-proof.” In order to drive down costs, it seems that this model will have features removed like the ability to connect it to a TV via the dock, meaning the console will only be usable in handheld mode.
It was stated that the more powerful Switch model won’t be getting a substantial performance upgrade. Instead, it will be more like the new Nintendo 3DS’s spec upgrade over the regular 3DS, but at least it looks like it will still support docking.
