Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption developer Rockstar Games has revealed in a series of new job ads that it’s staffing up for next-generation projects (via GearNuke), although it’s not actually sure what those projects are at this point.
Rockstar India is hiring talent to fill technical artist roles, including one for a senior environment artist. This will see the successful candidate joining a team creating ‘next-generation worlds for some exciting upcoming projects.’ And their New York division is looking to take on a MoCap tools developer to expand ‘upon the next generation of MoCap tools and pipeline.’ There is also the position of a technical face developer open to ‘help research and develop new technology for future titles’ which could suggest the next project is aimed for possible next generation consoles.
When it comes to the development of new games, Rockstar is known for taking its time and not confirming to the yearly release trend. The prime example being Red Dead Redemption 2 as it didn’t come until eight years after its predecessor, and it’s already been five years since the last Grand Theft Auto.
It also isn’t sure what the next title could be, the general feeling is that the next game will be a follow up to the Bully franchise.
