Resident Evil 2 Remake DEALS
On Friday the 11th January gamers were blessed with the resident evil remake 2 demo and honestly, never have I wanted to go back and play a demo over and over again. I’m a huge fan of the Resident Evil series so knew it would be something I’d love but I didn’t know it would be this much.
Please do not read on if you haven’t played it as there will be spoilers.
First things first, what the genuine fuck is up with the demo not only being limited to 30 minutes of game play, but secondly only being able to play It once. I remember demos being playable over and over again but grumbles aside, it’s not long till the full game is out and honestly what a game it’s going to be.
You start out as Leon Kennedy, refusing his orders to stay away from Racoon City and find yourself in the local police station subsequently filled with flesh eating colleagues. All we’ve been able to do is access different areas of the precinct and use a few weapons so far, being the shotgun, handgun and a knife.
Now first point – the graphics, as dark and dingy as resident evil is, the graphics are a thing of beauty and the graphics on the humans looks insane. The gameplay itself was smooth and not at all glitchy and they haven’t changed anything from any of the previous resident evil games which is a good thing knowing I can pick this game up and mow exactly what I’m doing from previous titles.
My only grumble aside from the short amount of time for the demo was that the zombies are quite difficult to put down, permanently. I tried a handgun on these compatriots and found that sometimes 5/6 headshots still doesn’t put them down, however shotgun is a whole different story, down in one go.
We didn’t have much to go off on the co-op side of things as it was just sole playing demo but I do know apart from 7 they have opted for co-op play in the past so fingers crossed that is included in this beautiful remake.
As a quick round off, we should all be excited as this remake is a thing of absolute beauty and the storyline is going to be one that grips people from the start. There’s going to a mixture of characters and disposable arsenal available to take on the zombie scum.
If you haven’t already, make sure you get pre-orders in place before the release date on the 25th January.
