Id Software’s Rage 2 has announced that they have prioritised frame rate over 4K.
On base Xbox One and PS4 consoles, Rage 2 will run at 1080p and 30 FPS (frames-per-second), and 1080p and 60 FPS on Xbox One X and PS4 Pro, and on Windows PC, the frame rate is uncapped.
“We went for speed over 4K for the enhanced consoles,” id Software’s Tim Willits said in an recent interview.
It is refreshing to see a title go for performance, rather than how shiny they can make the graphics. Even though, it is important to make a game look good, but if it performs like garbage it’ll put many players off returning to the wasteland.
Rage 2 heads to Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4 on 14 May.
