The action classic Predator looks to return to the video game industry with Predator: Hunting Grounds. Following the same asymmetric cooperative/competitive multiplayer of many games such as Friday the 13th, as they share the same developer.
Predator: Hunting grounds was announced during PlayStation’s State of Play event yesterday evening. Scheduled for launch in 2020 on the Playstation 4. Only releasing a very brief teaser, it however, does not show any actual gameplay. It does give us a glimpse of the Predator’s active camo, plus that signature growl.
IllFonic’s chief executive, Charles Brungardt, said that “One group of players will control members of an elite Fireteam who pack state-of-the-art conventional firepower, from shotguns and SMGs to sniper rifles and more.”
He continues to describe Predator; “Meanwhile, one player will control the Predator: a stealthy, acrobatic killing machine bristling with exotic alien technology such as the infamous Plasmacaster.”
The game is being developed in close partnership with Fox, and is due out in 2020.
