Nintendo’s fiscal year earnings release is finally is finally here, and it is very healthy reading for the company. The report reveals that the Nintendo Switch family of systems sold 21.03 million units last year, putting the console’s worldwide lifetime total at 55.77 million.
Those 21.03 million sales cover 1st April 2019 – 31st March 2020, meaning that Switch hardware sales were up by an impressive 24.0% year-on-year. The total was boosted by the launch of the Switch Lite.
In the report, Nintendo notes that while the COVID-19 outbreak has caused delays in the production and shipment of the console and accessories, it “only had limited impact on business results for this fiscal year”.
