When the July 2019 PlayStation Plus titles were announced, Pro Evolution Soccer 2019 was slated to be one of the two games that PlayStation Plus subscribers would be receiving. However, a last-minute change saw PES 2019 exchanged for Detroit: Become Human Digital Deluxe Edition, which also includes Heavy Rain.
According to Konami, and made in a short statement, it seems like the company wasn’t actually aware of the changes. In the statement, the spokesperson told Gamespot “This decision was made by Sony and so please make an inquiry to Sony.”
This news opens up a discussion about the ethics behind the PlayStation Plus service, and how companies may end up getting hurt if Sony makes last minute changes. It may also have an effect on Konami’s, or other companies’ willingness to collaborate with Sony’s PlayStation Plus titles in the future.
