According to Insomniac Games, more Spider-Man titles are in the works beyond the upcoming next-gen title, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales.
The studio confirmed that the Miles Morales edition isn’t a full sequel recently, looking more like DLC, while confirming this, they also confirmed more Spider-Man will be coming in the future. Creative director of Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Brian Horton claims the studio is still hard at work on more Spider-Man games. Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales is releasing during the PS5 launch lineup later this year, with the original game being available exclusively for the PS4 right now.
Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales takes place roughly a year after the events of the original Insomniac Games Spider-Man title and it will center around the Harlem borough of New York City. “I joined Insomniac near the end of Marvel’s Spider-Man and being able to collaborate with our team and Marvel to create a new story and experience all around Miles Morales has been a career highlight,” said Brian Horton. “It’s been great to also work with Bryan Intihar, who directed the first game, as he continues to imagine big things for the Marvel’s Spider-Man universe.”
In the same blog post, Insomniac Games’ Brian Horton said, “oh and one last thing: Many of you fans have wondered if Peter Parker is OK. Don’t worry, we still have much of Peter’s story left to tell. But this game is all about Miles, a critical part of our Spider-Man universe, and you won’t want to miss what happens.”
