Help Will Come Tomorrow DEALS
Help Will Come Tomorrow is a new game from Arclight Creations and published by Klabater. This story driven strategy game will make you team up with other stranded train wrecked passengers, to overcome the harsh Siberian winters until help arrives.
The game starts with its brief introduction where you see the train being derailed by a group of marauders who inevitably are tracking you down to kill you. The game then starts leaving you to help the characters left behind to survive the cold harsh winter for as long as possible.
You take control of 4 different characters each with different backgrounds and views on the current situation. The aim is to survive obviously. However, with most survival games you need resources and folk to gather them.
In Help Will Come Tomorrow your 4 characters each have 3 ability points to utilise each day to perform tasks to make your camping area more suitable for a successful survival. However, you also have to take into consideration the morale of the group and how they connect with each other to how well the task will be completed.
For instance, building a workbench requires materials like stone and wood, but requires 2 people to build it. The groups compatibility with each other is rather low at the beginning but can be improved the more they work together and get to know each other’s history.
This part of the game is interesting as it seems the developers have really given this area a good thought over and structured each individual’s history which can later relate and impact the group in different ways during the night time talks.
Talking about tasks for survival, there are 5 areas initially you can unlock by uncovering the snow each with its unique uses. For instance, the camp fire which you open up in the tutorial, this is what keeps the group warm and where the group congregates throughout the game. In each segment or station, it has its own upgrade tree which require different materials. Gaining these materials is what can be difficult.
I found this area quite difficult and found myself dying off the group due to using up their ability points by searching the surrounding areas for food and materials and running out of Ability Points to do upgrades and manage their ailments that each party member had going on. This could have been that they were hungry, thirsty, tired etc. All these aspects play a vital part into surviving the game and getting it right can be tricky especially if the group starts off with a low morale.
Even though Help Will Come Tomorrow has me suffering with annoyance through party members dying off which resulted in me restarting the adventuring all over again, this also gave me the opportunity to try something differently again.
However, I would say, having less usable ability points at my disposal and only having 3 per group member made it extremely difficult. If this slightly increased to say 5 points, you could do more actions which could make your survival more worth it in the end.
Help Will Come Tomorrow
As there are many other survival games in this type of genre, I don’t think it is something that many people will know or remember Help Will Come Tomorrow by. This is not to say it’s a terrible game because there are elements I like, I just think it lacks a bit of elegance and finesse. I suppose this is a smaller title and not a triple A title where they have a lot more to offer. I just don’t think it has replay-ability and that Is where its downfall will be.
