The newly discovered patent may show updated designs for Google’s rumoured gaming console. The recent patent itself is not specifically discussing the controller itself, that was leaked later last year as the tech giant seemed to have peeked interests in the growing gaming markets. This time around it is hinting at a notification based system for the controller itself.
The design is pretty standard, a two joystick design, featuring shoulder and trigger buttons on the back, as well as d-pad control buttons. It also heavily hints at voice assistant compatibility, as well as a microphone built into the controller.
The update of the patent has come with a host of speculation, heavily linking it to the rumoured Google gaming console, known as Project Yeti, and may link up with a gaming stream service, called Project Stream. The hardware for Project Yeti reportedly started life with the Chromecast dongle, however has developed into a more substantial design.
However, all of this is speculation. But we do have hope, the Game Developers Conference starts on the 18th of this month. It remains unclear what will be discussed at this conference, but Google’s patents might be officially revealed.
