English publisher and developer Team17 has purchased the “rights and assets” for the golf, and if you’re James streaming on our Twitch channel, anger simulator Golf With Your Friends for £12 million, according to a report from GamesIndustry.biz.
Golf With Your Friends was released in early access during 2016, but is still played and streamed regularly. The game was officially released in May 2020.
“Over the last two years, GWYF has shown strong consumer demand and mass market appeal, doubling its owner base and achieving success on multiple gaming platforms,” Team17 CEO Debbie Bestwick said in a news release, according to GamesIndustry.biz. “GWYF is the type of IP we believe is right for ownership, it is successful and proven but still at the start of its journey. The team at Blacklight Interactive can be assured that we will take great care of this amazing IP.”
