Developer and publisher Glu Mobile has appointed Jon David as its new vice president and general manager.
David has been in the industry for around 20 years. Before joining Glu, he was CEO of Taunt, an esports company that allows viewers to take part in live challenges and get involved.
Before that, David spent ten years at PopCap Games, first as vice president of social games and then as vice president. During his time at PopCap he led the development of Bejeweled Blitz, and oversaw the popular Plants vs. Zombies franchise.
Mark van Ryswyk, executive vice president leading casual games at Glu, commented: “Jon joins Glu at an exciting time as we incubate the next generation of casual games for the organization. With his extensive background in creative direction and studio leadership, I look forward to partnering closely with Jon to accelerate that mission.”
Earlier this year, Glu reported strong Q4 2019 results, with income exceeding $10.8 million, compared to a $1.3 million loss for the same quarter in 2018.
