Bethesda has so far welcomed the Nintendo Switch during the system’s early days. With Bethesda Porting over many of the great titles such as Skyrim and Wolfenstein 2: The new Colossus. However, it looks like Bethesda’s latest game, Fallout 76, will not be coming to the Switch.
Speaking at PAX Aus, Bethesda’s Pete Hines explained:
“The Switch is something I can say with certainty that… it’s a part of every conversation with every dev we have now about what we’re doing going forward, because we consider it to be a viable platform. If the game will work on it, we want it to be on every platform possible. Fallout 76 is not because it just wasn’t doable.”
No detail has been given to exactly why or what wasn’t doable about the Switch version, but the massive always online world probably had something to do with it. Hines however, reiterated the point that every Bethesda game was up for consideration.
Fallout 76 is currently in beta, and you can pre-order if you’d like to take part — with the full release coming to PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One on Nov. 14.
