We finally come to old man Nintendo. Sadly this year will be the first without Reggie Fils-Aime (former CEO of Nintendo). Anyway, what can we expect from them? Well, firstly Animal Crossing for the Switch which was originally announced in September of last year so would make sense for Tom Nook AKA the most tory game character ever to make an appearance at E3.
Next is the other half of the Mario Bros. Luigi now back again in another spooky mansion sucking more ghosts, with his vacuum cleaner, you perv in Luigi’s Mansion 3. Now, while it’s not the official title of the game as of yet and with an expected release date in 2019. It does look like the right time for an official announcement with more details and a solid release date.
Since the success of Detective Pikachu at the box office, it does seem well-timed for a new set of Pokemon games for the Switch, aptly named Pokemon Sword and Shield which is set in the brand new region of Galar, which is based on the UK. All of the Pokemon including the Gen 8 ones will be likely be coming across, it does line itself up to be one of the stars of its conference. Though to note there is a dedicated Pokemon Direct on the 5Th June with 15 minutes of information to divulge also.
Other stuff to mention Fire Emblem: Three Houses which since the February Nintendo Direct earlier in the year, would seemingly just needs a polished trailer to keep the hype going till mid-July for its own dedicated Direct. Super Mario Maker 2, and more characters for Smash Bros. though since the announcement of the Metroid 4 development being rebooted earlier it would be pretty cool to see the progress on that, and probably some 3rd party games being announced would be expected.
