Clearly following the foundations created by Dirt 4, out comes Dirt Rally. The much most serious take on the Dirt franchise that traded in the fun and games for a much more serious tone – because rally is super serious, yo.
The game boasted a vast range of different locations, and a small (17) amount of cars, but I guess, since it’s rallying, it doesn’t need Forza Horizon levels of cars available. The online mode for Dirt Rally is a special type of boring, it had players running on the same level but ghosting each other, and it became a game of watching the different times splits come in – really dull, but honestly there was no other way to do online.
Why does Dirt Rally rate so low on this list? Because it was so boring, it just took all fun out of the Dirt series to take itself way too seriously, and it lost all of its charm, but a least it wasn’t as boring as Dirt Rally 2.0, so it’s a winner there.
