In the ye old days playable demos were the main way for players to get hold of the latest offerings from your favorite developers, and to have a small idea on what their latest title was going to be like. Looking back at the really good days, some of these demos were found in magazines and you could play them to your heart’s content – creating iconic gaming childhood memories, and back then there was none of this “Open Beta” nonsense. Now, demos in magazines is a memory, but there has been an influx of playable demos that have come across my desk and here is my pick of the bunch.
Kill It with Fire: Ignition
Now, one of the household’s greatest menaces is the household spider. Even though given that i’m in the UK and not everything outside the house wants to kill me (*cough* Australia) This isn’t the case in Kill it With Fire from tinyBuild.
We play as a “Pest Exterminator” dealing with the common spiders in a variety of excessive ways, from clipboards and objects to homemade flamethrowers, shurikens, and a 44. Magnum of all things. First, you’ve got to find the buggers and they will hide anywhere and everywhere – behind picture frames and under toilet seats.
Luckily you are given a Colonial Marines inspired tracker to hunt down the spiders, that levels the playing field a touch. The game is just a good laugh if nothing else, pest control with an aerosol can and a lighter is usually highly recommended. *chief kiss*.
Kill It With Fire: Ignition will be fully released come August 13th – but only on PC.
Just don’t try these methods at home for real. Don’t want to hear news of houses burning down because of what they’ve learned from this game.
