Demon's Tier+ DEALS
Demons Tier+ has arrived with its difficulty setting cranked up in another instalment of a rouge-like arcade shooter dungeon crawler.
Releasing mid June on various platforms, I was lucky enough to get a early copy to review and my thoughts are very mixed. There are aspects I like and dislike about this game and all will be discussed.
So let’s start of with the good points. Demons Tier+ appealed to me due to its Role playing background and the story within. The story revolves around the dungeon of King Thosgar, and its your quest to enter it and destroy the demonic minions that lurk there. Sounds interesting right?
Each level is laid out with an abundance of demons which you can kill to earn coins and destroy box and loot chests for even more loot. Coins are used to power up your characters to make them stronger as you deeper into the dungeon. However, this has nothing to do with each tier your faced with.
On each tier you are tasked with an objective which you must complete before the hatch in the map opens so then you can progress onto the next area. The task you are given is also time restricted so completing it before the time runs out is crucial. Failure to do this brings out the Reaper which follows you about on the map trying to catch you before you leave the level.
This makes it even more interesting and intensifying as as you are frantically going about the map as fast as you can slaying all the demons whilst trying the conserve you life.
There are 8 character to choose from all with different abilities and strengths. Many of these characters can be purchased through the market store with coins you pick up in the dungeon. That’s if you come out with any!!
Demons Tier+ is annoyingly difficult and doesn’t seem all to rewarding. If your lucky enough to complete a run and come out with coins to spare for upgrades, you got to enter again. To gain more coins to get more upgrades. However, like I roughly said earlier, if you die within a tier after gathering loads of coins for upgrades, you respawn back at base and must redo all tiers again. A good note is the fact you can retrieve your lost coins/body so you could potentially complete it again wit even more coins. But good luck with this as I have attempted this many times and failed.
With only not even a handful of completed runs, and not much in the name of high risk high reward structure, I found myself getting bored of unable to progress. Has it got worth and replay-ability? Maybe for some who really like this type of genre but for me, I like a game that is achievable to complete and all round fun to play.
This is not to say Demons Tier+ is a bad game. There are some people who will enjoy this more than others.
