E3 was huge for raising hype for the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077, and at a rapid rate more information is being revealed, such as not that every game you play will start off in exactly the same way.
According to an interview with VG247, CD Projekt RED developer Pawel Sasko confirmed that you’ll have different Cyberpunk 2077 starting locations depending on your life path.
Sasko is in the role of CD Projekt RED’s lead quest developer on Cyberpunk 2077, but when asked for further details on Twitter, he refused to elaborate further points due to possible spoilers.
Cyberpunk 2077 will have a number of roles that characters can play in them, including things like Rock Star, Journalist, Cop, and more.
While 2077 will only have three of these classes (Netrunner, Solo, and Techie), that still means that you won’t have the same sort of starting point as other RPGs would normally have. You’re also not going to be locked into one class; for example, you could start off as a Solo but gain a lot of Techie-based abilities and decide to switch.
Each of these classes and the backgrounds behind them will tie into the story that goes along with each of the Cyberpunk 2077 starting locations, but there has been no other information confirmed beyond this.
Cyberpunk 2077 is due to be released on April 16, 2020.
