It’s been a few months since Battlefield V launched, a complete game without microtransactions or premium currency. However, as of the latest update, that changes. Whilst updating the game to feature ray tracing improvements and tweaks to the latest game mode, Firestorm.
Currently, Battlefield V contains a single in-game currency: Company Coins, which can be earned during gameplay. However, now Battlefield Currency can purchased. Currently, these coins can be used for several things: Cosmetic items, Elite sets, and Time savers.
From yesterday, cosmetic items can of all levels can now unlocked by direct progression, such as Chapter rewards or ranking up. However, this can be avoided by using the Battlefield coins to unlock these rewards.
Coming new with Chapter 3, players will be able to unlock Elite sets that allows for distinct soldiers in multiplayer modes. These also feature an assortment of cosmetic items, character voice overs, special assignments, and a unique Best Squad animation.
Finally, these coins can be used to buy Time Savers. These time savers can be used to either boost XP or to boost Tiers. Tier catch-ups can be used to boost progress in Chapter rankings, while XP boosts can be used to further players in any other ranking.
All items will be available in the form of real currency, if players don’t want to invest directly in the coins. However, the update will bring in new content for players regardless of if they purchase or not. These new updates will bring additional maps, modes and weaponry to play with.
