Apex Legends has had its up and downs in its short life, the huge player base has brought a few different problems, such as various cheating accounts.
Respawn has recently stepped up efforts against those who cheat with ban waves and an upcoming report feature, but according to a new report, the risk is worth the reward.
One user, known only as ‘Dev’ says he’s made $5,000 since he started selling cheats, a claim that has been backed up by screenshots of payments.
Dev had previously worked on Fortnite cheats, but Epic’s s legal action against cheaters has caused many to jump over to Apex Legends.
Another cheat maker reports lower earnings of $400 in a week, however, there’s plenty of room for that number to grow with cheats sold through subscriptions.
As Respawn continues to ban cheat users, it’s actually rather difficult to enforce those bans, since Apex Legends is free, there’s little stopping players from simply signing up for a new account and starting again.
