Our very own staff writer, Ben Orton is putting himself through 24 hours of non-stop gaming, all in the name of charity.
The whole event will be live on our twitch channel (www.twitch.com/xnvrofficial) and will start from 10 AM, all details, including how to donate are found are: https://gameheroes.macmillan.org.uk/fundraising/iow-fox-86
Get involved, have some fun with Ben and don’t forget to open your wallets to this amazing cause, as we have set a target of £250 and looking to smash past that.
Below is an official statement from the man himself:
In November last year, my partner lost her dear mum to cancer. Although I wasn’t around when she was diagnosed, I saw one of the strongest, most amazing women I’ve met taken away by this evil disease, shattering a wonderfully close family that should have had so much more time together.
The Macmillan nurses, during this difficult period were fantastic. They are not only there for their patients, but for the families as well, any questions were answered, any concerns raised were dealt with.
Sadly, too many of us know someone who has suffered from this cruel disease. Some amazingly survive, but too many don’t. Macmillan are there to support everyone and the work they do is fantastic. But they are a charity, and without people raising money for charity, and holding various events around the country, they just wouldn’t be able to support families through this difficult time.
That’s why I have decided, on the 30th November I will be doing the Macmillan gaming heroes challenge, where I will be gaming on my PlayStation for 24 hours, and my game time will be streamed live via Twitch.
I know that many people give to charity in their own way, and support those who do as much as they can, so if you can spare anything at all for this fantastic cause, then please go to my fundraising page below and donate anything you can.
